The nail care market represents a significant slice of the nearly $500 billion dollar global health & beauty market. Most people acknowledge that getting regular manicures is a costly and time consuming practice but the difference in quality and outcome compared to at-home nail care justifies the price. Coral set out to bridge this gap by offering the industry’s first automated nail polish application system.
Their technology incorporates smart sensors and cameras to analyze the shape of each individual finger and apply a manicure-quality finish to each nail from the comfort of the consumer’s home. Coral’s app guides the user through proper finger placement as well as each step of the application process providing confidence and visibility to the user.
This work represents Coral’s first attempt at envisioning and communicating to investors what the product experience around their technology could look like. With easily swappable nail polish cartridges consumers can quickly and easily switch between colors of polish while the manicure tools and tray make nail prep and finish a snap.
The materials and finish communicate a sense of luxury and indulgence hearkening back to the manicure experience while the form and texture help make use and finger placement as comfortable and intuitive as possible.
